2016 Vista's Edge Cabernet Franc
Fresh and lifted with aromas of dark cherry and red currants with a hint of cedar. The palate is soft and incredibly complex with balanced tannins, bright acidity and notes of black fruit with subtle baking spice. A refreshingly long finish.

October 12th, 2016
The 2016 harvest lasted 76 days and set records for being our longest harvest ever. The lack of heatwaves in the summer kept sugar levels and phenolic maturity in sync so that ripening progressed slowly and predictably.
18 months in French oak (25% new)
This small vineyard has west-facing slopes on the most southernly part of the Valley's eastern side. When standing on the site, one has a feeling of being on the edge. Coupled with the "vista", the view and the right-of-way at this unprotected international border where Canada and the US connect, it was fitting to name this wine, Vista's Edge. Cabernet Franc tends to be smaller fruit and with more cylindrical clusters that are tighter than Cabernet Sauvignon due to a greater berry set. In this inaugural vintage of Vista's Edge Cabernet Franc, there is a subtlety in the layers of flavour against a refined structure of bright acidity and tannins that are present but nicely contained.
